Saturday February 27th 2010:
CANADIAN SINGER-SONGWRITER SHOWCASE
|
|
We are delighted to showcase four of Canada's most important emerging singer-songwriters.
Contemporary folk artist, Terry Penney is an engaging storyteller with a social conscience, insightful perspective and a nostalgic yearning for days gone by.
Dave Gunning's ability to tell a story has resulted in six Music Nova Scotia awards, three East Coast Music Awards and rousing welcomes from crowds at festivals and venues on both sides of the Atlantic.
Dave Carroll's clear, warm vocal style has been compared to James Taylor, Neil Finn, Chris Isaac and Keith Urban but more often than not what strikes listeners is that Dave sings with his own voice, telling stories and sharing his unique observations of the world in which we live.
In 1999, Christina Martin left her home in Halifax, NS with a rough course charted for Austin, TX. Within months she was a regular fixture of the Austin bar scene, performing her own material along side acts such as Wilco and singing backup as part of the retro-rock outfit Young Heart Attack.
This is their only Dublin gig
